Building in Birmingham, new art galleries and hotels

Artist call for more galleries to be opened, but will it happen? With the interest in modern and contemporary art increasing across the UK more and more art galleries are popping up. Allowing the British public to be able to go and admire the work of artist from all around the world. Furthermore it gives the artist a chance to promote their work and sell it.

Birmingham is the second largest city of the UK and as a popular tourist destination. With it having a shopper’s paradise, the Bullring and great entertainment at the NIA for the whole family, it is only increasing in popularity for weekend breaks and overnight stops. Due to this popularity it has caused the demand for more shops and sights to be built around Birmingham, to meet the demand many more hotels and attractions are being built one of the attractions being art galleries.

Many believe that the increase in popularity is good for the city as it brings in allot more business for the smaller and more local companies. For example the building of every new buliding means that the builders have to use builders merchants Birmingham, building supplies birmingham and building materials birmingham  Furthermore the more tourist means that they have got to eat and drink which increases sales into the food and drink industry, lastly they have got to have somewhere to sleep and live, accommodation so Birmingham hotels .

On the other hand some believe it is bad for the city and wonders whether Birmingham can handle this increase, for example does the city have a good enough transport network to get people from here to there without causing delays for the workers and people who live in Birmingham. They also believe it may cause the city to become overcrowded and take the personal touch which it offers.

Birmingham isnt the only city which is becoming more and more popular for tourist, stoke and conventry are also now very popular for stop over destination. Again they are having more buliding built including art galleries. However like birmingham it is also brining in business and new Coventry Hotels and Stoke Hotels. By having upcomiong citys in the surrounding area of birmingham it means that the pressure is relieved of birmingham  solving the issue of over crowding and whether birmingham can cope.

In conclcustion the fact is that many new art galleries and other types of bulidings are being bulit, increase [populatrity, population and business for the locla economy of the city. There are some disadvantages however they are easily overcomable and with the 2012 oluympic coming who doesnt weant new hotels, better business and a brand new art gallery to show of this countrys artistic skills.
